Is is safe to visit Israel?
While skirmishes are heard on the news, from time to time, overall Israel is not in a constant state of war.
To practice good safety in any country including Israel it is a good idea to always be aware of your surroundings and to also avoid demonstrations, protests and irritated crowds.
Of course threats of terrorism and unrest in the territories is always a possibility, it is in many other countries as well, including England, for example.
If you don’t like large crowds, avoid the holidays pertinent to the middle east
If you don’t like crowds, and for optimal safety… one option is to Avoid major Jewish, Christian and Muslim holidays.
The Jewish holidays: Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in September or October
Hanukkah in December and Passover in April.
Christmas.
At these times, the country is more likely to have large crowds on the streets, the potential for greater personal risk is higher.
