The Road Jesus and the Disciples Walked
Emmaus
The “road to Emmaus” as mentioned in the Bible today is a dirt path with remnants of ancient Roman paving stones situated into West Bank hillside approximately 4.5km northwest of the modern boundaries of Jerusalem.
The Gospel of Luke, at Luke 24:13-35, records that Jesus appeared to two disciples who were walking from Jerusalem to Emmaus, which is described as being 60 stadia (10.4 to 12 km depending on what definition of stadion is used) from Jerusalem, after his resurrection.
